How coronavirus is affecting the hourly workplace

Coronavirus, social distancing and its impact on your business

Protecting and repurposing your team to address business volume and social distancing is a new challenge during this unprecedented time. At Snagajob, we’re ready to help you navigate staffing issues— both in this time of uncertainty and after, when American businesses and consumers return to life as usual.

Last week, we started a conversation about staffing and the coronavirus via a survey of our employers and workers. As consumers stay home and delivery demands skyrocket, here’s what your peers are doing right now to keep up with the changing situation:

  • 60% of employers are very concerned about coronavirus’ impact to their business
  • 53% of employers are repurposing staff to meet new customer service demands like curbside pick-up, cleaning/business hygiene and delivery
  • 35% of employers plan to add staff in the coming weeks to meet increased demand
  • 80% of workers are looking for more work; 30% would like to supplement their income with gig work

We’re committed to keeping our employees and communities safe, and recommend following both government and CDC guidelines as we each do our parts to prevent the spread of the virus. We will deliver uninterrupted service to our customers. And, as the champions of hourly workers, we take our responsibility to come alongside them now very seriously.

We want to partner with you as you think about innovative ways to adapt your business model and staffing plan in the current situation. We’ll work together to find you the right people for evolving roles and needs.

Stay healthy,

Mathieu Stevenson
